Gemstones remain, for me, one of nature's most beautiful wonders. They were formed deep within the earth, under extreme pressure and heat, sometimes millions of years ago. When you look at a gemstone, you are literally looking back in time.

No two stones are completely identical. It's precisely these small differences in color, inclusions, and brilliance that make each stone unique and give it character. That is also precisely why I remain so fascinated by gemstones and their natural beauty.

Opleiding gemmologe

Mijn fascinatie voor edelstenen gaat veel verder dan alleen hun schoonheid. Voor mij zijn het kleine wonderen van de natuur — gevormd diep in de aarde, soms miljoenen jaren geleden. Het idee dat je letterlijk terugkijkt in de tijd wanneer je een steen bestudeert, blijft me enorm raken.

Vanuit die passie ben ik gestart met een tweejarige opleiding gemmologie aan de Academie voor Mineralogie in Merksem . Niet alleen om mijn kennis verder uit te diepen, maar ook omdat ik het belangrijk vind om mijn klanten met expertise, eerlijkheid en vertrouwen te kunnen begeleiden bij het kiezen van een juweel. Op het einde van mijn tweede jaar leg ik het Europese FEEG-examen af.

Hoe meer ik leer over edelstenen, hoe groter mijn bewondering wordt voor hun unieke karakter, ontstaan en schoonheid. Voor mij draait een juweel niet alleen om wat je ziet aan de buitenkant, maar ook om het verhaal, de natuur en de mystiek die erachter schuilgaat.
